From your initial phone call or email, through to our site visit and of course, during construction, you’ll be treated with the utmost respect and consideration. To coin a phrase, we fully understand driveway drainage, so you don’t have to. Since 2008, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems legislation (SUDS) has been in place to address driveway drainage issues. It’s robust, as you would expect (we get a lot of rain the UK). And, we’re fully compliant. In fact, it’s always at the top of our agenda. In a nutshell, you have two options: Permeable paving, to enable rainwater to soak directly to the ground below without overloading street drains. This could be permeable block paving, resin-bound, gravel, or grass driveways, as well as open-graded tarmacadam. Non-permeable paving – say with concrete, resin-bonded or non-porous tarmacadam driveways. In these cases, we’ll talk to you about a soakaway; this is literally a way of “soaking away” excess water to keep it away from roads etc. NB: there are many variable here. Rest assured, we’re highly experienced in drainage, so get in touch for advice and information on where the water goes, how the situation can be slightly different with patios etc.
